Skill Game “Swat the Bug – Smack the Cockroach!”
This is a dynamic skill and observation game in which
reflexes, concentration and quick decision-making are key
. Players reveal challenge cards one by one and must quickly determine the correct answer – then swat either the cockroach figure or the card with their swatter.
The rules are simple
, but each new card may require a completely different way of thinking. One round may involve finding a path through a maze, another may require spotting a cockroach hidden in a picture, while another may challenge players to quickly compare the images shown on the card.
How to Play?
Before the game begins, each player receives a swatter. Place the cockroach in the middle of the playing area and shuffle the cards, placing them face down next to it.
In each round, one player reveals the top card. Everyone analyses the task at the same time and tries to swat the correct target as quickly as possible:
-
the cockroach
– if the answer to the question on the card is “YES”,
-
the revealed card
– if the correct answer is “NO”.
As soon as one of the players swats their chosen target, the round stops and the answer is checked.
4 Types of Challenges on the Cards
Different challenges appear during the game:
-
Maze
– does the cockroach have a path leading out of the maze?
-
Find the Cockroach
– is there a cockroach hidden in the picture?
-
Majority
– are there more cockroaches than slippers on the card?
-
Alive or Not?
– is the cockroach shown on the card alive?
If the answer is YES
, swat the cockroach figure.
If the answer is NO
, swat the card.
What Happens After an Answer?
-
If a player
answers correctly
, they take the revealed card and place it in front of them.
-
If a player
answers incorrectly
, they must give one of their previously collected cards to another player – if they already have one.
If nobody wins the card in a particular round, it remains in the middle and the next card is revealed on top of it. The next player who answers correctly may win all of the accumulated revealed cards.
Who Wins?
The winner is the player who is
first to collect 10 cards
.
So players must not only react quickly, but also look carefully at each challenge – a hasty swat may cost them one of the cards they have already won!
