Creative Magnet-Making Kit – 6 Glow-in-the-Dark Owls

This creative DIY set allows children to make 6 adorable owl-shaped magnets from start to finish. The activity includes preparing the plaster mixture, pouring it into the mould, painting and decorating the finished shapes, and finally attaching the magnets.

The set includes a mould with 6 different owl designs , so each finished magnet can have its own unique look. How to make your own magnets?

1. Prepare the plaster mixture
Pour the plaster powder into the mixing bowl and gradually add water while gently stirring. For 100 g of plaster , use approximately 50–70 ml of water . The mixture should become smooth and suitable for pouring into the mould.

2. Fill the mould
Place the mould on a flat surface and pour the prepared plaster mixture into the owl shapes. Gently move or tap the mould to help remove air bubbles and spread the plaster evenly.

3. Remove the shapes from the mould
Once the plaster has fully hardened, carefully press the mould from the back to release the finished owl shapes. The included plastic tool can be used to tidy and smooth the edges if needed.

4. Paint and decorate
Once dry, the owls are ready to decorate. The set includes 6 different paint colours and a paintbrush . Colours can also be mixed together to create new shades and unique designs. The white paint provides a glow-in-the-dark effect for extra fun.

5. Attach the magnets
When the painted figures are completely dry, cut the included magnetic sheet to the desired size, remove the protective backing, and firmly attach it to the back of each owl. The finished creations can then be displayed on a fridge or other magnetic surface.
