Creative Magnet-Making Kit – Wild Animals

Looking for a creative and engaging activity? This set allows children to make their own colourful magnets from start to finish – from preparing the plaster mixture and creating the casts, through painting, to attaching the magnets.

The set includes a mould with 6 wild animal designs: an owl, gorilla, elephant, hippopotamus, zebra, and lion . Each figure can be painted in any way the child likes using the included paints, making every finished magnet unique.

How to make your own magnets?

1. Prepare the plaster mixture
Pour the plaster powder into the mixing bowl and gradually add water while gently stirring. For 100 g of plaster, use approximately 50–70 ml of water. The finished mixture should have a smooth consistency suitable for filling the mould.

2. Fill the mould
Place the mould on a flat surface and fill the selected shapes with the prepared plaster mixture. Gently moving or tapping the mould can help remove air bubbles and spread the plaster evenly.

3. Remove the casts from the mould
Once the plaster has completely hardened, carefully remove the shapes by gently pressing the mould from the back. The included plastic tool can be used to smooth and tidy the edges of the finished casts.

4. Paint and decorate
Once dry, the most creative part begins! The figures can be painted using the included colours, which can also be mixed to create new shades. Children can choose realistic colours or let their imagination take over and create completely original versions of the animals.

5. Attach the magnets
When the figures are completely dry, cut the included magnetic sheet to the desired size, remove the protective backing, and attach it firmly to the back of each cast. The finished decorations can then be placed on a fridge or another magnetic surface.
