When a Standard Sensor Isn’t Enough
The TESLA SecureQ TS01 is a radar presence sensor that helps smart homes better detect whether you’re actually using a room. A traditional PIR sensor relies on detecting changes in thermal radiation caused by movement, whereas the TS01 detects presence even during subtle activity. As a result, linked lighting or other devices can remain active while you’re working, reading, or watching TV—even if you’re barely moving.
Adapts to Room Conditions
Curtains, fans, or air conditioning can affect presence detection. Artificial intelligence (AI) learns the conditions of the surrounding environment and, together with a multimodal algorithm, helps the sensor recognize interfering stimuli. Additionally, problematic areas of the space can be marked as interference zones in the app so that automations operate with a more precisely defined detection area.
Automation Based on Presence and Light
Compatible smart devices can respond to both occupancy and current lighting conditions. Both pieces of information can be used to trigger custom smart scenes—for example, to turn on the lights when someone arrives or to keep them off when there is sufficient natural light. After everyone leaves, connected devices can change their status according to selected rules to minimize unnecessary operation.
Settings for Each Room
Since the dimensions and layout vary from room to room, the radar can be aimed to suit specific conditions. A detection range of 0.3 to 6 meters and a detection angle of approximately 120° help cover the selected area of the interior. The magnetic mount allows you to adjust the sensor’s orientation even after installation, excluding parts of the room or sources of interference that you don’t want the automation to affect.
Battery-Powered and Wireless
You can place the sensor regardless of the location of an electrical outlet. Power is provided by a CR2450 battery, which is included in the package. You can mount the base to a wall or ceiling using an adhesive pad or screws, and then attach the sensor to the magnetic mount. Battery operation and two mounting options provide greater flexibility when finding a position that provides adequate coverage of the room.
TESLA Smart Connects the Entire System
In the TESLA Smart app, you can integrate the sensor into your smart home and use its status as a trigger for other devices. For example, you can create an automation that triggers an audible and visual siren alarm when presence is detected at a selected time. You manage all connected devices and rules in one place. A Zigbee gateway is required for the sensor to communicate with the system.
