Bottle Lifespan When Making Sparkling Water with a SODASTREAM Machine Never use a bottle that is damaged, deformed, or shows other signs of damage, or whose expiration date marked on the bottle has passed, to make sparkling water. Use of the bottle outside the sparkling water maker is NOT limited by the expiration date. Why does the bottle have an expiration date? The bottle’s material must withstand the pressure of CO2 gas from the cylinder repeatedly and over the long term during several years of use in a home sparkling water maker. As a result, the material the bottle is made of wears out and ages. To ensure your safety is prioritized, each bottle has a specified expiration date, which you’ll find printed directly on the bottle. NEVER use a bottle in your home sparkling water maker after this date has passed; replace it with a new one that will serve you reliably for several more years. Use of the bottle outside of the sparkling water maker is NOT limited by the expiration date. Use it only for making pure sparkling water. Never use a bottle that is damaged, deformed, or past the expiration date marked on the bottle.
