SHIMANO is probably one of the most famous and popular manufacturers of quality bicycle parts and accessories in the world. Parts from this manufacturer are more or less used in most of the bicycles Founded in 1921 in Japan, the company currently has perhaps the widest range of products for both amateurs and professionals. Every year, innovations are introduced that allow cyclists to shift gears more precisely, brake more efficiently or finish the track faster. Currently the company is expanding the offer of electronic gear shifting mechanisms and electric bicycle parts more and more. The range of products is not limited to bicycle parts, clothing for cyclists is offered as well.

The Shimano DEORE SL-M6200-R 12-speed Rapidfire Plus shifter with clamp mounting offers improved ergonomics and a more precise shifting feel. For 12-speed HYPERGLIDE+ drivetrains, the SL-M6200 shifter offers a multi-shift function for classic mountain bikes.

Optimised ergonomics for shifting The new DEORE shift levers offer improved ergonomics and a more precise shifting feel. A shorter lever travel and a clearly defined pressure point ensure more direct operation. The shape of the shifter supports a natural hand movement and makes shifting easier in a wide variety of riding situations.

Several shifter variants are available for different bike types and drivetrain configurations. For 12-speed HYPERGLIDE+ drivetrains, the SL-M6200 shifter offers a multi-shift function for classic mountain bikes. The SL-M6210 has been specially developed for e-bikes with high torque and allows only single-shift operations to protect the cassette. As a third option, the SL-M6230 is designed for 11-speed LINKGLIDE drivetrains. All DEORE shift levers are available in both an I-SPEC EV version and a variant with a handlebar clamp.

TECHNOLOGIES

2-WAY RELEASE – The release lever on a RAPIDFIRE Plus shifter is pulled towards the grip, just like the trigger of a pistol. The release lever on the new RAPIDFIRE Plus shifters, from ALIVIO to XTR, can be operated in the same way. However, it can also be used to shift gears simply by pressing with the thumb.

RAPIDFIRE PLUS – RAPIDFIRE Plus has been used by mountain bikers since 1985. RAPIDFIRE Plus continues to be used successfully by a wide variety of riders, from cross-country racers to freeriders. RAPIDFIRE Plus is ideal for fast shifting. The rider can shift down by up to three gears with a single lever movement. All RAPIDFIRE Plus shift levers, from DEORE to XTR, are equipped with 2-WAY-RELEASE (release in two directions). This means that the shift cable is released by pulling with the index finger or pressing with the thumb.
