Pirelli has used its knowledge and experience of over 100 years in the development of rubber compounds for motorsport, where these products have always been used in top level racing in all disciplines. This extensive knowledge from the development and racing departments has enabled Pirelli to create a triple polymer compound with "smart" performance properties for bicycle tyres and forms the basis for the superior characteristics of the SmartEVO compound - improved dry and wet grip, while at the same time reducing rolling resistance.
