The Benchmade 5371BK-01 Shootout is an automatic knife that features a drop point blade made of ultra-hard CPM-CruWear steel , a Grivory plastic handle and a carbide taper for instant glass breaking. The Benchmade Shootout is a Double Action OTF automatic knife. Which means that both the process of extending and retracting the blade is done automatically. Thanks to such functionality, the knife can be easily and quickly unfolded under stress also with a "weak hand". The blade is unfolded by moving the massive slider forward, folding only requires reversing the slider in the opposite direction.

The Benchmade 5371FE Shootout is a knife with a tactical style, accented by a tanto head and a handle with a discreet black color scheme. The knife uses a drop point blade - a profile with very good cutting properties.
The blade is made of Crucible Industries LLC - CPM-Cruwear tool steel hardened to a hardness as high as 63-65 HRC . With excellent wear resistance and strength, CPM-Cruwear can be described as a steel with twice the performance of the original D2 steel. The new formula is enriched with vanadium, tungsten and molybdenum additives, which give the steel exceptional wear resistance and allow for high hardening. When choosing a knife made of such steel, it is worth getting a diamond sharpener, as sharpening with a standard ceramic whetstone can be very labor-intensive and inefficient.
Durable coating, handy handle and nailer
The blade is coated with Black DLC (diamond-like carbon), which protects the blade from scratches, strengthens its hardness and provides additional protection against corrosion.
Grivory plastic was used for the handle, making the knife's handle light and rigid. Thanks to precise 3D machining, the handle not only has a modern design, but also an exquisite grip, which was achieved through the use of rough texture and profiled shape.
The Benchmade Shootout has a high-set clip (which can be flipped to the other side) for easy discreet carrying of the knife in a pocket and attachment to a belt or backpack. The knife has an additional rescue tool in the form of a carbide bolt , which allows you to instantly break glass or deliver a painful blow.
