The GANZO G8012V2-DY has a full tang (aka full bolt) construction. This term is used to describe knives whose head and handle shaft are made from a single piece of steel. Knives of such construction are characterized by great strength and resistance to damage, which is why they are commonly used by survivalists, bushcraft enthusiasts, soldiers and hunters. The knife has a wide and massive 113mm long head, made of 8CR13 57-58 HRC stainless steel, which is straightforwardly an ideal choice for an outdoor knife. The steel used is resistant to corrosion and wear, stays sharp for quite a long time and sharpens easily, which is of great importance in the case of a survival knife. The hard steel combined with the 5mm thick full tang blade makes it clear that the knife was made for outdoor work and can be used for chopping and batoning. The back of the knife has a flat cutter with sharp edges, which works well with a flint and makes it easier to flint sparks.

The long cutting edge makes working with this knife a pleasure. The element that distinguishes the knife is its modular design, so that after unscrewing the steel bolt (in the back of the tang) we can slide the blade out of the handle and use it, for example, to make an improvised spear. The blade locking nut also functions as a beater and glass breaker used during rescue operations. The contoured polymer handle has finger cutouts and slanted ribbing to improve the knife's grip. A hole in the handle was used to weave in a paracord cord, which of course can be replaced with another accessory. Visibility inserts have been placed on the handle to help locate a lost knife.

The Ganzo Firebird G8012V2-DY knife comes with a multi-functional sheath, which not only for safely carrying the knife, but also has a number of important survival tools. The sheath is made of plastic and nylon fabric, resistant to moisture, mold and the passage of time. On the outer side there is a compact flint, with the help of which, after just a short training, you will easily start a fire. On the inner side is mounted a small diamond sharpener that allows you to sharpen the knife in the field. In the lower part of the sheath is embedded a removable blade, which can easily cope with cutting line, fishing line and tape.
