Support for 2.4GHz and 5GHz simultaneously There are several advantages of using both bands. Ideal split: - 2.4GHz: web browsing, file downloads, emails, etc. - 5GHz: Online gaming, HD video streaming, especially applications where latency is important. The 2.4GHz band also tends to be very congested in larger developments or apartment blocks, degrading performance to lower levels, so WiFi routers in the vicinity cancel each other out.
