is a semi-sequel follow up to the demon slaying game
Toukiden: The Age of Demons.Kiwami
takes place three months after the battle to prevent another Awakening. The village of Utakata enjoys an uneasy peace. However, a new threat emerges in Nakatsu Kuni. Forces from the north have fallen against the demons (Oni) and now seek refuge in Utakata Village. Toukiden: Kiwami
doubles the size and content of the original game, featuring new weapons, newly discovered Oni, new Mitama (Over 100 new Mitama), new Slayers, new moves, new storyline, and twice as many stages, serving as a robust expansion of the incredibly successful
Toukiden: The Age of Demons
.
Continuing where the original
Toukiden: The Age of Demons
story left off,
Toukiden: Kiwami
will finally give players more insight about the origins of the Slayers and the mysterious Council of Elders. All much loved characters from the first title will still be available like Oka and Hayatori as well as new characters such as Reki, Soma, and Horo, who will reveal additional depth to the story by joining the game’s original cast. A new weapon, the naginata, will also be available (the ultimate hack and slash weapon).
Toukiden: Kiwami
will also feature more difficult missions, new fighting styles, and a wide variety of terrifying and deadly new Oni such as the Snowflame, the mysterious Oni of the north, doubling the Oni from the original title. Also, existing Oni have been strengthened with new moves, creating twice the tension on the battlefield.
Multiplayer works similarly to the previous title, supporting cooperative play with support for up to four players. In addition to the ability to play both the PS Vita and PS4 versions via cross-play, players will also be able to carry over all of their weapons, armor, Mitami and their progress levels from
Toukiden: The Age of Demons
to
Kiwami
as well.
