KNYGA Laura Westra Faces of Environmental Racism

Discover the profound insights of "Faces of Environmental Racism," a compelling collection of essays edited by leading scholars and policy experts. Published by Bloomsbury Publishing Plc in 1995, this hardback edition spans 300 pages and delves deep into the intersection of race and environmental justice in the United States. The contributors highlight the pervasive racial biases that often disguise themselves as ecological, demographic, and economic rationales. With a focus on the alarming reality that racial minorities are disproportionately affected by toxic waste and environmental hazards, this book sheds light on the inadequacies of clean-up efforts and the urgent need for equitable solutions. A must-read for anyone interested in social justice, environmental policy, and the fight against systemic racism.
