KNYGA Clare Youngs Mindful Making

Lose yourself in the creative process with 35 MINDFUL and SOOTHING makes. Use NATURAL MATERIALS and UPCYCLE old fabrics and scrap yarns. Immerse yourself in a STATE OF FLOW as you learn MEDITATIVE techniques including PUNCH-NEEDLING, WEAVING, and BLOCK-PRINTING. In today’s busy world, it can be difficult to switch off, so Clare Youngs has designed 35 beautiful projects to help you slow down and experience the simple joy of making something with your own hands. In the first chapter, there are projects for the home, from felt planters to a tactile pompom throw and sashiko-stitched coasters. Next, craft thoughtful gifts such as soft leather pouches, an embroidered shirt, and doodle-printed notebooks. There are also gorgeous gifts to make for children, including a fluffy koala bag and a scallop-edged baby quilt. Finally, choose from beautiful wall art projects including an Art Deco wall hanging, a textured weave, and coral embroidery hoops. As well as step-by-steps for the stitches and techniques, you’ll find easy-to-use templates for the projects. All of Clare’s designs have a Scandinavian-inspired aesthetic, so as well as practicing mindfulness through craft you will have something stylish to show at the end.
