The original Grimm Brothers story offers a lesser-known but equally charming version of this beloved fairy tale.Cinderella is kind and pious, unlike her wicked stepmother and stepsisters who won’t let her attend the royal ball. But Cinderella receives magical help from the doves in the hazelnut tree that marks her mother’s grave, and appears at the ball in a shimmering gown. The prince is smitten and must find the mysterious girl, but all he has to go on is a golden slipper . . . New scans of the original artwork showcase the incredible scratch-on-acrylic style Bernadette Watts used in the 1970s, giving the story an exciting classic-yet-retro style.
