A new, closer pivot point follows the natural curve of the finger, while the 5-degree up lever and tuned grip width promote a natural position for confidently tackling technical trail sections.

With maximum braking power, consistency and control, the BR-M8220 four-piston hydraulic caliper is the best performing caliper in the Shimano XT M8200 line. New low-viscosity oil keeps the M8220's brake pad contact point constant in all track and weather conditions, and new brake pads eliminate rattling sounds caused by vibration. Increased braking power and consistency combined with quiet operation provide precise handling on demanding tracks.
